Teaching personal safety skills has never been more important.
Everyday, more than 2,100 U.S. children are reported missing and thousands more are exposed to dangerous situations that didn’t exist when we were young.

That’s why Honeywell Hometown Solutions partners with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to bring safety resources to every community in the United States.

Since 2003, Honeywell and NCMEC have worked together on Got 2B Safe!, an abduction prevention program for elementary school students, to teach children potentially life-saving lessons. In 2007, Honeywell distributed G2BS materials to 240,000 principals and teachers and 72,000 schools across the country.

To encourage teachers at elementary schools nationwide to help their students learn these valuable and potentially life-saving lessons, Honeywell and NCMEC launched the Got 2B Safe! Contest in 2005 where teachers were invited to submit brief lesson plans emphasizing Got 2B Safe’s rules for personal safety. Five grand prize winners receive professional classroom makeovers worth $10,000 and more than 100 other winners receive gift certificates for school supplies worth up to $500.

With initiatives like Got2B Safe!, Honeywell Hometown Solutions is delivering programs in Family Safety & Security to keep our communities safer – one child, one teacher, one family at a time. (For Notification of Future Contests Enter Your Information Here)
