The Got 2B Safe! Awards Program recognizes those teachers with the greatest commitment to teaching child safety. Since 2005, nearly 2,000 teachers from across the country have submitted essays and lesson plans on how they implement the Four Rules Of Safety into their classrooms. To date, 10 Grand Prize winners, and over 200 other winners have been recognized. Grand prize winners receive full classroom makeovers, while other winners receive gift certificates for school supplies. Learn about their stories below.

Our elementary school teaches a health and wellness class. One week of the class focuses on safety. We will introduce students to the four safety skills by teaching our 'Got 2B Safe' song in the beginning of our safety week.
Students will learn about the four safety skills through many activities, including demonstrating what they have learned by role playing and creating a skit about how to be safe.
At the end of the week students will teach the whole school (and other schools and organizations within our community over the next couple of months) our 'Got 2B Safe' song and perform the safety skit for our school assembly.
After the assembly each classroom will create a safety mural, showing the four safety skills learned. The murals will be distributed throughout the community to teach about safety. We will also record on video our students performing the safety skit and singing the 'Got 2B Safe' song. This video will be given to our local police department to use for school presentations in the future.
